About

Chromosoft

Chromosoft is a Limited Liability Company founded in 2010 with the goal of creating genetic analysis software for high density SNP microarray data. Employing both Identity by Descent and Identity by State analysis methods, Chromosoft software determines regions where alleles are shared between individuals.

Chromosoft software packages have been created for a wide variety of species to aid in the discovery of genetic loci for many different kinds of studies. Both dominant and recessive models can be analyzed using our customized software. Chromosoft also develops software for clinic diagnostics. Moreover, Chromosoft is committed to customer support and to designing a program that meets the customer’s exact specifications.

Alexander Bisignano

Alex is the founder of Chromosoft. After graduation from Princeton University in 2009, Alex became involved in the fields of personal genetics and reproductive technology. Chromosoft emerged out of the realization that simply obtaining genetic data is only one step of the diagnosis process. Data analysis is the second step, and as technology advances, it will continue to be an essential part of the genetic testing process.

Alex is also a personal genetics blogger on his blog The Chromosome Chronicles. Here he discusses genetics, public policy, bioinformatics, and soon-to-be real advances in stem cell and genetic technologies. If you would like to contact Alex, feel free to visit his blog and contact him through that venue.
